PopStroke – Entertainment Facility Development

Project Overview

TGS provided Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Threshold Inspection services for the development of a new PopStroke entertainment facility in Palm Beach County, Florida. The project involved construction of a two-story recreational venue and associated site amenities designed to support a high-traffic destination focused on dining, recreation, and entertainment.

Project Scope

The development included a new two-story structure supported by shallow foundations and slab-on-grade construction featuring CMU walls, elevated concrete slabs, roof slab systems, and structural steel framing. Site improvements included recreational amenities, pool areas, and supporting infrastructure designed to enhance the guest experience and overall functionality of the facility.

TGS provided integrated materials testing and structural inspection services throughout construction to support quality assurance, structural integrity, and compliance with project specifications and Florida Building Code requirements.

Our Role

TGS delivered comprehensive Construction Materials Testing and Threshold Inspection services throughout all phases of construction to verify material performance, structural compliance, and adherence to approved construction documents.

Construction Materials Testing services included field and laboratory evaluation of soils, base materials, and concrete systems to verify compaction, structural support, and long-term performance. Threshold inspection services included observation of reinforcing steel placement, masonry wall construction, structural steel connections, and elevated structural systems to confirm compliance with threshold inspection requirements and Florida Building Code standards.

The team coordinated closely with contractors, project stakeholders, and municipal reviewers to support construction sequencing, quality assurance, and successful project delivery.

Key services included:

Construction Materials Testing (CMT)

  • Field sampling and laboratory testing of soils, base, and concrete materials
  • Modified Proctor and LBR testing for subgrade and base verification
  • In-place density testing of subgrade, base, and slab-on-grade systems
  • Concrete testing, including slump, temperature, air content, and compressive strength evaluation
  • On-site fabrication and curing of concrete test cylinders
  • Construction materials testing documentation and reporting

Threshold Inspection Services

  • Observation of reinforcing steel placement in foundations, slabs, walls, beams, stairs, and elevated floor systems
  • Inspection of masonry and CMU wall construction

Health District of Palm Beach County – Facility Development

Project Overview

TGS provided geotechnical engineering services for a proposed facility development for the Health District of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Florida. Planned for a site near Benoist Farms Road, the project includes a new building facility and supporting infrastructure designed to serve future public-sector healthcare operations and community needs.

Project Scope

The proposed development includes a new building facility, associated parking areas, and stormwater retention systems requiring evaluation of subsurface conditions to support future design and construction planning. The project required geotechnical analysis to inform foundation design, pavement systems, and overall site feasibility while addressing soil conditions, groundwater, and stormwater management requirements.

Our Role

TGS provided geotechnical engineering services to support early-stage planning and design for both structural and site-related improvements. Services included subsurface exploration, engineering analysis, and evaluation of geotechnical conditions affecting building foundations, pavement systems, and stormwater infrastructure.

The team developed engineering recommendations to support foundation feasibility, identify site constraints, and inform future design and permitting efforts for the proposed healthcare facility.

Key services included:

  • Subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering evaluation
  • Foundation recommendations for proposed building structures
  • Assessment of soil conditions for parking and pavement design
  • Evaluation of retention and stormwater management areas
  • Groundwater and subsurface condition analysis
  • Construction and site development recommendations
  • Engineering support for design planning and permitting considerations
