Florida International University (FIU) – Campus Improvements

Project Overview

TGS provided Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing (CMT), and inspection servicesacross multiple infrastructure, athletic, healthcare, and campus improvement projects at Florida International University’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus. The work supported a broad range of facility enhancements designed to improve campus operations, athletic performance facilities, student services, transportation systems, stormwater management, and critical infrastructure resilience.


Projects included athletic facility improvements, healthcare and academic support infrastructure, roadway and loading access upgrades, stormwater improvements, emergency power systems, and site development projects across the university campus.

Project Scope

TGS supported a variety of campus-wide initiatives ranging from new athletic training facilities and recreational infrastructure to healthcare expansions, drainage improvements, utility support systems, and operational facility upgrades.

Work included athletic surfaces, structural building improvements, parking and pavement systems, drainage infrastructure, loading and service access improvements, utility coordination, and emergency infrastructure enhancements.

Our Role

TGS provided integrated geotechnical engineering, Construction Materials Testing (CMT), and inspection services throughout planning, design support, and construction phases across multiple campus projects.


Services included subsurface investigations, foundation and pavement support recommendations, field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and structural materials, compaction verification, concrete testing, and ongoing construction quality assurance. The team coordinated closely with university stakeholders, contractors, and design teams to support compliance, constructability, and long-term performance across a diverse range of campus infrastructure.

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) – Fort Pierce Campus

Project Overview

TGS provided geotechnical engineering services for the proposed Greenhouse Building at Florida Atlantic University’s Fort Pierce Campus in Fort Pierce, Florida. The project supports the development of a new pre-engineered greenhouse facility designed to enhance agricultural research, education, and campus operations.

Project Scope

The project included construction of a new greenhouse structure on a previously undeveloped, relatively level site, along with associated building pad preparation and supporting site infrastructure improvements.


TGS performed a comprehensive geotechnical engineering study to evaluate subsurface soil conditions, groundwater characteristics, and site constraints to support foundation design, grading, and site preparation for the proposed facility.

Our Role

TGS provided geotechnical engineering services to support planning and design of the proposed greenhouse facility through subsurface exploration, engineering analysis, and development of foundation and site preparation recommendations.


Services included soil test borings, soil classification, groundwater evaluation, and analysis of bearing capacity and settlement potential to support shallow foundation design. The team also performed ground penetrating radar (GPR) scanning and utility coordination to identify potential subsurface conflicts and support safe field exploration activities.


Engineering recommendations were developed to guide grading, compaction, building pad preparation, and long-term site performance for the proposed research facility.

DeSoto County Schools – Site Improvements & Bus Loop Project

Project Overview

TGS provided geotechnical engineering and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) services for multiple DeSoto County School District improvement projects in Arcadia, Florida. The work supported infrastructure enhancements for educational facilities, including site improvements at DeSoto High School and development of a new middle school bus loop, improving site circulation, drainage, and long-term campus functionality.

Project Scope

The projects included site development activities such as earthwork, roadway and bus loop construction, utility installation, and drainage improvements supporting school campus infrastructure. Improvements at the middle school also included reconfiguration of an existing stormwater retention pond to improve site functionality and support stormwater management requirements.


TGS provided integrated geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services to evaluate subsurface conditions, support design recommendations, and verify construction quality and compliance throughout project delivery.

Construction Materials Testing services included field and laboratory evaluation of soils, fill, base materials, and concrete systems to verify material performance, compaction, and compliance with project specifications.

Seminole Tribe of Florida – Community & Facility Development

Project Overview

TGS provided Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing (CMT), and Inspection Servicesacross multiple infrastructure, educational, healthcare, administrative, and cultural facility projects for the Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF). Work supported development and expansion efforts across the Brighton, Big Cypress, Hollywood, and Ahfachkee Reservations, enhancing community services, educational facilities, healthcare access, operational infrastructure, and Tribal campus connectivity. 


Projects included educational campuses, healthcare facilities, administrative and maintenance buildings, cultural infrastructure, pedestrian connectivity improvements, and recreational facilities, requiring coordinated geotechnical analysis, construction quality assurance, and engineering oversight throughout planning and construction. 

Project Scope

TGS supported a wide range of Tribal infrastructure initiatives including new preschool and school facilities, gymnasiums, healthcare expansions, museum and archival buildings, administrative and maintenance facilities, pedestrian circulation improvements, and recreational amenities.
